As with any investment, you want security and short term efforts with long term results. Our AIM in counseling, is to work as a team to motivate you to your desired result through a myriad of therapeutic self regulation modalities. We are not just “talk”. Together we will find what style works best for you making your journey safe, effective and emotionally/financially manageable. There is no charge for your initial consultation where we will identify realistic goals and I will present a model and short term plan for you.
In your first session, through biofeedback, we will obtain a concrete baseline of your stress level and ability to recover from stress. You will experience new techniques to manage your stress that will be relaxing and productive.
As we work, you will learn how your thoughts and emotional state effect your bodies physiology. As you become adept in the self regulation techniques through biofeedback, you will be able to monitor your physiology bringing you to a higher awareness of your body and control over its internal functions. We will make these skills adaptable to your lifestyle giving you the results you need to realize your optimal health potential.
If needed, to expedite results, we can develop a personalized program for relaxation exploring therapeutic body movement, several psychological modalities, guided imagery and meditations targeting physical and emotional issues to relieve chronic pain, headache, anxiety, depression and other stress related illnesses. Thus adding a pleasing element to your therapeutic process and our work together.
With your commitment to change, we can work on identifying emotional blocks to your optimal health and emotional well being. You will learn the self regulation skills that will empower you to work on your own to manage and understand your emotions, behaviors and your relationships. Biofeedback will give us the ability to see what and how experiences effect you to give us the productive edge needed to keep your therapy short term as it is not my goal to keep you in therapy, but to encourage your independence and ability to work successfully on your own.
